Let me be upfront. Knightsbridge Sky River Ocean sits on the Thonburi side of the Chao Phraya River, in the Pak Kret direction, near the intersection of Rattanathibet and Chaiyapruek roads. This is west Bangkok in the truest sense, closer to Nonthaburi than to Silom. The nearest mass transit option is the MRT Purple Line at Sai Ma station, roughly a 10 to 15 minute drive depending on traffic.

That commute reality matters. If you work in Asoke or Silom, you are looking at a transfer from the Purple Line to the Blue Line at Tao Puknam station, then continuing into the city center. It is doable, but it adds 45 to 60 minutes each way on most days. I know a couple who rented here while one partner worked remotely and the other commuted to Nonthaburi Government Center. For them, it was perfect. For someone commuting to Sukhumvit every day, it would be a grind.

One bedrooms range from 28 to 35 square meters, and two bedrooms go up to about 45 to 50 square meters. The layouts are functional, with most units offering a small balcony that faces the river or the city side.

I visited a one bedroom unit on the 20th floor, river side. The view was genuinely impressive. You get an unobstructed look at the Chao Phraya with boats passing below, and the sunsets are the kind of thing you would post on Instagram without a filter. The kitchen is a basic kitchenette with a two burner electric stove, which is fine for light cooking but not ideal if you like to actually cook Thai food at home. A friend of mine rented here for six months and said his biggest monthly expense after rent was Grab rides to restaurants and social spots on the east side of the river.

Security is 24 hours with key card access, which is standard. The building management keeps the common areas reasonably clean, though some residents have mentioned that the gym equipment could use an upgrade. Parking is available for car owners, which is a genuine plus since street parking in Bangkok is always an adventure.

Rent Prices and Value for Money

According to listings on DDproperty, average rent for a one bedroom unit at this project ranges from 7,000 to 12,000 THB per month, making it one of the most affordable riverside options anywhere in the Bangkok metro area. Studios can go as low as 5,500 to 8,000 THB, and two bedrooms typically land between 12,000 and 18,000 THB.

To put that in perspective, a similar one bedroom condo with river views in Charoen Nakhon near ICONSIAM would cost 18,000 to 30,000 THB per month. You are paying roughly half the price here for comparable or better views, just with a longer commute to central Bangkok. That tradeoff is the entire value proposition of this building.

For digital nomads, remote workers, or anyone whose office is not tied to a specific BTS station, these prices are hard to beat. It is also worth considering if you are a couple on a budget who wants space. A two bedroom unit here for 15,000 THB per month split between two people is only 7,500 each, which is absurdly affordable for a furnished riverside apartment. I know a pair of freelance designers who set up their home office in the second bedroom and used the living area as their actual living space. They were paying less than their friends in shared houses in Chatuchak.

On the other hand, if you are an expat working in the Sathorn or Sukhumvit corridor and you value being close to international restaurants, nightlife, and the BTS Green Line, this is probably not the right fit.
