Metro Luxe Mo Chit: Affordable North Bangkok Condo Full Review

Summary

Metro Luxe Ratchada review covers this affordable north Bangkok condo with modern amenities, convenient location, and excellent value for renters seeking q

If you have been scanning rental listings around Mo Chit and Chatuchak, you have probably come across Metro Luxe more than once. This mid-range condo sits in one of north Bangkok's most practical corridors, close to the BTS, surrounded by local food spots, and priced well below the Sukhumvit average. But is it actually a good place to live, or just another budget high-rise with nice marketing photos? I have visited the building multiple times and talked to tenants who live there. Here is my full, honest take.

Location and Getting Around from Metro Luxe

Metro Luxe Ratchada sits on Ratchadaphisek Road, tucked into the stretch between Lat Phrao MRT and Ratchadaphisek MRT stations. The walk to Lat Phrao MRT takes roughly 10 to 12 minutes, which is fine if you are used to Bangkok distances but might feel long during April heat. Some residents grab a motorbike taxi from the soi entrance for 15 to 20 baht, which cuts the trip to about three minutes.

What makes this location genuinely useful is the connectivity. The MRT Blue Line gets you to Silom, Sukhumvit, and Hua Lamphong without any transfers. If you work around Asoke or Rama 9, you are looking at a 15 to 20 minute commute door to platform. A friend of mine who teaches at an international school near Chatuchak chose this condo specifically because his commute is a single MRT stop plus a short walk.

Chatuchak Weekend Market is about a 10 minute drive or two MRT stops away. Central Ladprao, one of Bangkok's better suburban malls, is also nearby with a direct MRT connection. For everyday groceries, there is a Tops supermarket and several 7-Elevens within walking distance.

The Units: What You Actually Get for the Rent

Most units at Metro Luxe Ratchada are studios and one-bedroom layouts. Studios typically run between 22 and 26 square meters, while one-bedrooms push closer to 30 to 35 square meters. These are compact spaces, no question about it. But the layouts are reasonably efficient, and you do not get that claustrophobic feeling you sometimes find in cheaper Ratchada condos.

Finishes are standard developer grade. Think laminate flooring, basic kitchen counters, and built-in wardrobes that do the job without winning any design awards. Most rental units come furnished with a bed, a small sofa, a TV, and essential appliances like a washing machine, microwave, and refrigerator. Air conditioning is split-type, which is standard for this price point.

One thing I noticed during visits is that the higher floors get genuinely good natural light and decent city views toward the north. Lower floors tend to be darker and can pick up more street noise from Ratchadaphisek, so if you are noise sensitive, ask specifically for a unit on floor 15 or above. I met a couple renting a one-bedroom on the 18th floor, and they said the evening breeze alone made the higher floor worth it.

Facilities and Building Management

Metro Luxe has a swimming pool, a basic gym, and a small garden area. The pool is not huge, but it is clean and rarely overcrowded on weekday mornings. The gym covers the basics with treadmills, a few weight machines, and free weights. If you are serious about lifting, you will probably want a membership at a proper gym nearby. Jetts Fitness and Fitness First both have branches within a short MRT ride.

Building security includes key card access, CCTV in common areas, and a staffed lobby. The juristic office is responsive for maintenance requests, though a few tenants mentioned that urgent repairs can sometimes take a couple of days to schedule. Parking is available but limited, so if you own a car, confirm a spot before signing the lease.

Common area maintenance is generally good. The lobby stays clean, the elevators work, and the pool area is maintained regularly. It is not a luxury property by any stretch, but the management keeps things functioning at a level that matches the price.

Rental Prices and Value for Money

This is where Metro Luxe really stands out. Studio units rent for roughly 8,000 to 11,000 baht per month, and one-bedrooms go for about 12,000 to 16,000 baht. Compare that to similar sized units along lower Sukhumvit, where you would pay 15,000 to 22,000 for the same square footage, and the savings are significant.

For context, a young professional I know moved here from a studio near On Nut BTS. She was paying 14,000 baht for a smaller unit with worse facilities. At Metro Luxe, she got more space, a better pool, and saves 4,000 baht a month. That is nearly 50,000 baht a year back in her pocket, money she now spends on weekend trips to Koh Samet instead.

Lease terms are typically 12 months with a two-month security deposit. Some landlords will negotiate on price for longer commitments, especially if the unit has been vacant for a while.

Who Is This Condo Best For?

Metro Luxe Ratchada works best for single professionals, young couples, and budget-conscious expats who prioritize location efficiency over luxury finishes. If you work along the MRT Blue Line, particularly around Rama 9, Phra Ram 9, or Silom, the commute is easy and affordable.

It is probably not the right fit if you need more than one bedroom, want walkable nightlife like you get on Thonglor or Ekkamai, or require high-end gym facilities in the building. Families with children would likely want something bigger in the Lat Phrao or Kasetsart area instead.

If you are considering Metro Luxe or similar condos in the Ratchada and Chatuchak area, take the time to visit at least two or three buildings before committing. Every condo on this stretch has slightly different strengths.
